July 16, 2020:
Hey all, thanks for your patience! We are starting our Stage 3 roll-out this Saturday with Warhammer 40K. In the interests of safety, we are making play tables available via a new booking system here http://kingstonnexus.ca/bookings/ . We’re still working out the kinks, so we thank you for your understanding while we figure out what the new normal is! (We will be expanding out to other games soon, we hope.)

Attention: customers are now required to wear masks indoors at all stores in Kingston, including Nexus. But just keep this in mind: all the coolest superheroes wear masks! Thanks for your understanding and cooperation on this. If you’re unable to wear a mask for any reason, please give us a call or contact us online and we will be happy to arrange contactless curbside pickup for you.
May 16, 2020:
We are excited to be re-opening our doors to the public on TUESDAY MAY 19th!!! However, we recognize the need to do so cautiously and with health and safety in mind. Here’s what we are doing to protect our customers and our employees:
- We are asking customers and employees to keep out of melee range of others.
- Our employees will be wearing face masks. We ask our customers to please consider doing the same, if possible.
- We will be limiting customers in-store to 15 at a time. This number may be adjusted in the future.
- We are asking customers to please keep your visits short (under 15 minutes). If you think you might need longer than that, please call ahead and we can help you over the phone with your questions.
- Our play area and bathroom remain closed to the public at this time.
- We will be installing a plexiglass barrier/sneeze guard at the cash.
- We will be keeping our front door open to have some fresh air coming in.
- Our employees will also be following a number of additional protocols including disinfecting/sanitizing, wearing gloves, and minimizing contact.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you lovely humans again!

There’s been lots of questions about what curbside pickup is going to look like. Orders can be made through email (firstname.lastname@example.org), phone (613-546-2565) during regular business hours, or messaging us on Facebook. Payment can be by etransfer (preferred) or by Paypal, or contact us for alternate payment methods. Pickups will be arranged individually to ensure the safety of all our customers. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the unprecedented time. We are a community, it is what makes us strong and what will get us through this. Thank you.
April 23, 2020:
We are still adhering to the provincial/federal guidelines and keeping our doors closed. We are however trying to work out some days in May when we can do curbside pickup. If there is anything you would like reserved let us know and we set it aside. We will do a Facebook post and an announcement on Twitter and a website update once we have come to an arrangement that keeps our customers and our staff the safest. We miss you folks! Nexus has always been a community store and without the great and supportive community we have we are nothing. Thanks to everyone who have messaged us with their words of goodwill. Thanks to everyone who has reached out and reserved product for when we eventually do open. And thanks to everyone who is waiting patiently for us to open our doors again.
March 24, 2020:
We are being mandated to close our doors to the public tonight at midnight, and we don’t know when we will be allowed to reopen. In addition, most of our distributors are also temporarily closed, meaning we won’t be able to get new product in. Supply chains are disrupted with a lot of product being made in China, where many ports are closed. Some manufacturers have temporarily suspended production. Even if we could sell to you, we’re going to start seeing some backlogs. There’s some product starting to pile up at our distributors that can’t get to us, and there’s some starting to accumulate at the ports that can’t ship to our distributors, and some things that are going to be delayed getting produced.
March 22, 2020:
As of Monday, Kingston Gaming Nexus will be closing its doors to the general public for the extent of the current crisis. We will be instituting Front door pickups where by you can pay by etransfer, PayPal or over the phone credit card (we are looking into other forms of payment and will hopefully have a system of ‘Tap’ at the door soon for Debit and Credit transactions) and then pickup your products at the door.Simply give us a call at 613-546-2565 or email us at email@example.com to let us know what you’d like to purchase and we’ll put it aside for you, or order it for you should the product not be currently in stock. Nexus will open once again once the current crisis has passed. Ordering hours will be from 10 to 6 Tuesday through Saturday. We here at Nexus are committed to the health and well-being of our staff and customers and we are doing everything possible to ensure their safety now and in the future.
