SUMMARY:Warhammer 40k Team Tournament 2026
DESCRIPTION:September 19-20th – 40k team tournament\n9:00 AM dice roll each day – store opens at 8:30 AM for registration and set up.\nTeams will be four players. Your team is registered once each of your team members has prepaid either at Kingston Gaming Nexus or online at the Nexus website. We have to do prepay to ensure that people actually show up\nCost is $40 per player – payable to Kingston Gaming Nexus. Team captains are responsible for ensuring all the players on their team have registered.\nThere will be an absolute maximum of EIGHT teams for this event. We have space for 16 tables, so 32 players.\nOnce this is full, if a team has not paid for their registration, they may be bumped off the list by another team who does pay. Do not wait until day of please!\nArmy construction\nEach team member will construct a matched play legal 2,000 point list. The same faction cannot be duplicated in the same team (ie: only one necron player, only one space marine player, etc.) As well every team member must pick a different disposition for their army (only one purge, recon, priority assets, take and hold, disruption per team).\nMatchups\nWhen your team is matched up each round it’s against another team. Each team secretly chooses one list to be the DEFENDER. When the matchup starts both teams simultaneously reveal their DEFENDER list.\nNow each team selects two of their remaining players to be ATTACKERS. The ATTACKERS are revealed simultaneously.\nThe team decides which of the ATTACKER lists their DEFENDER will play against.\nThis leaves two ATTACKER lists that were not chosen, and they now have to play against one another.\nThis also leaves the last player on each team, who was not chosen as DEFENDER or ATTACKER. These two lists play against one another as well.\nThis means that your team will play FOUR games each round, and gives you some agency as to what the matchups are.\nScoring\nEach team mate will play a standard one vs. one game of 40k. You may use fixed or tactical cards as per a normal game. At the end you compare your score with your opponent, which gives you a score for your team which is based on a scoring differential:\nVP difference          Player battle points          Opponent battle points\n0-5                                  10                                     10\n6-10                                11                                      9\n11-15                              12                                      8\n16-20                              13                                      7\n21-25                              14                                      6\n26-30                              15                                      5\n31-35                              16                                      4\n36-40                              17                                      3\n41-45                              18                                      2\n46-50                              19                                      1\n51+                                 20                                      0\nFor example – Player A gets 65 points, their opponent Player B gets 25 points – the different is 40, which means player A’s team gets 17 points and Player B’s team gets 3 points.\nAfter all the scores are added together, this gives you the score for the round for your team. This score is compared to the score for your opposing team. The team that scores at LEAST SIX more than the other team is determined to be the winner.\nExample: At the end of the round, Team A scored 54 total battle points and Team B scored 46 total battle points. As the difference is at least 6 battle points, Team A is the winner.\nteams event companion ( https://kingstonnexus.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/teams-event-companion.pdf )\nNeed to find a team to play with? Find one on Kingston’s local wargaming forum: kingstonwarhammer.proboards.com ( http://kingstonwarhammer.proboards.com )\nWhen registering, please ensure you provide the emails associated with your Best Coast Pairings accounts, thank you.\n
