So you’ve been painting minis for a little while. You know how to handle a brush, how to do some highlighting and shading, maybe you’ve followed some tutorials. So what’s next? How do you move from “I know how to do this” to “Hey, I’m pretty good at this”? Well, Professional miniature painter Ben Carver from Primal Poodle Painting is here to lend a hand. Join us on November 27th from 1-4 PM at the NeXus to learn ways to improve your miniature painting at the beginning, middle and end of the painting process.
Specifically, this class will cover how to plan an effective colour scheme before you even start to paint, using colour theory and a few good rules of thumb. Once your main colours are blocked in, we’ll discuss how to make intelligent choices of highlight and shade colours to maximize drama and contrast without making your models too garish or busy. Finally, we’ll discuss how to blend using glazes, a time consuming but very simple way to create smooth transitions.
Simple armoured miniatures will be provided for you to practice on but feel free to bring your own if you’d prefer. Something simple is recommended since it will make the colour scheme easier to build.
The cost of the class is $40 including the model and access to the full range of Legendary paints. Feel free to bring your own paints and models if you wish. You will need your own brush, and I encourage you to bring your own palette.
If you have any questions, please reach out to email@example.com or Primal Poodle Painting on Facebook.
Hope to see you there!
